I am fascinated by the spontaneous effect of glaze, oxide and stain when applied to a piece of clay and fired in the kiln.
The rolled piece of clay is my “canvas” on which I create a picture. To prevent the glazes from running into each other I discovered a technique called Opus Sectile where the pieces are cut to form some order similar to a jigsaw puzzle.
I also paint using the same medium on handmade clay tiles/panels using wax line to prevent bleeding.
I am constantly experimenting and developing my technique and some fusion is encouraged to create abstraction.
My art is permanent and multifunctional.
